"I swopped Amsterdam for Ibiza because it feels like home. The quality of life is very high. People take time for things, are living in the moment. The island attracts energetic, inspiring and charismatic people from all over the world. Most of my friends have their own business, mostly something creative. Everyone does something they love for their profession, are ambitious but no workaholics. People are positive, they lift each other up, and that's nice to be around with".
"And what nobody expects, the winter is my favorite time of the year. It's peaceful, quiet, just amazing and you can recharge from the Summer. I love the varied landscapes, from red, rocky cliffs and clear waters to miles of farmland and the ancient walled city of Dalt Vila. Ibiza offers many great locations for photo shoots, which makes it the perfect place for me. It's my heaven on earth".
"My favorite place is our home. We live at the countryside north of the island. You don't hear any cars, just birds, frogs, sheep and chicken. It's the ultimate family home, that brings people together. It's a place where food is important, guests stay over or stay for diner. We love to cook with friends and stack long tables with flowers, bottles of wine, nice plates and glasses and eat in the garden under the stars. Although it's at the countryside we are in the city in 12 minutes, so we don't feel isolated".
"A perfect day starts with a work out on Talamanca beach after bringing my daughter to school. Coming back home for a self made healthy lunch. After that having a meeting for work on the beach. My husband and daughter join me after work and we stay at the beach all day and eat there with friends".
"For lunch I like La Paloma for eating under the orange trees. El Chiringuito because their food and ambience is fantastic. For dinner I love to eat at Les Terasses, where you will find a little bit of France in Ibiza. Jane Birkin used to sleep here and it's the most romantic and charming place you can imagine. Ses Bogues and Pastis seem to be great, they are on my list".
"When we are with the kids we love to go to Aguas Blancas or Cala Vadella beach. You go back in time at both places. Agua Blancas is more raw, with high cliffs. The water and sand are amazing. Cala Vadella gives me the feeling of the French riviera in the seventies, imagine Brigitte Bardot & Alain Delon coming of their boat. The sunset is fantastic, have a pizza at Bon Sol at the end of the day".
"You have some beautiful small deserted, rocky and secret beaches with cristal clear turquoise water, these are nice for a pick nick, like Cala D'en Serra or Cala Xuclar. I prefer the ones where you can run into the water. Without the kids I like to have lunch at El Chiriguito in Ex Cavallet and lay on the beach with a cocktail".
"I love the island because of the laid back atmosphere, the people and the high quality of life. The architecture of Ibiza is varied, I love the Blackstad houses, the old finca's and the houses with glass windows with seaview in Es Cubells. The interior of many homes are eclectically but chicly decorated. You can hear the best electronic music, world s biggest DJ's come to the island".
DJ Ken Abel
"The sixties left their heritage, in the clothing but also spiritually wise. You can find yoga, medititaion, detox and some great Spa's. And at last the people, who in my opinion make the island too. Because of them, it s not like Saint Tropez. It's magical and electric. You keep meeting nice people, with an open mind and who travelled the world and who easily blend in with each other, no matter what your background or profession is".
- "When on the island visit Es Vedra for sure! Restaurant Es Boldado offers a great view".
- "Go and see the North of the island, especially when the island is in bloom".
- "Just take a map and drive till you find small deserted beaches".
- "Cala Mastella for lunch".
- "Take a sailboat to Formentera, it's a paradise".
- "Get yourself into a secret villa or cave party where a number 1 DJ is playing. I could go on for a while.. "
"The Ibicenco's are so friendly and laid back. "No pasa nada", which means "don't worry about" it is a much heard sentence.."
