Alexandra Tiligada and Sophia Antoniadou, Co-Founders of Discover Greek Culture, reveal their favourite spots and in the city of Athens.
"The best way to start the day is with a double shot of dark espresso in a sidewalk café in Kolonaki, just north of Syntagma Square. The Fillion café is among the best. The stylish neighborhood is also home to the Benaki Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art, as well as renowned galleries such as the Kalfayan and Zoumboulakis. From there, walk down to the side entrance of the tranquil and resplendent National Garden."

"You can learn even more about the city's fascinating modern history at the Museum of the City of Athens. Built in 1833-34, this beautifully restored mansion was the first residence of King Otto and Queen Amalia from 1836-42. The museum's perfectly recreated rooms provide a rare glimpse into aristocratic life in 19th-century of Athens. You can even have a private dinner within the museum's atmospheric rooms. Next to the museum is the Black Duck Garden, an enchanting bistro set apart from the hustle and bustle of the city centre."
"Plaka is a wonderful place to have a Greek coffee in the early afternoon. The traditional and atmospheric Amaltheia crêperie is the ideal place to do so. You can also catch a movie at the splendid open-air Cine Paris cinema."
"For dinner, Mama Roux, is well worth a visit. The menu is one of the most colourful in the capital, and its location on Aiolou Street, a bustling pedestrian thoroughfare, lets you soak in Athenian life while you soak up one of their signature cocktails."
"For a nightcap, go to the plaza surrounding the centuries-old Agias Eirinis Church - where you can sit outside under the stars in smart new watering holes such as Tailor Made."
